[elbe-devel] converting image to run in RAM only

Hello all,

I'm able to build an image for xilinx-zynq using elbe,
Debian jessie, and the vanilla 4.9.18-rt kernel from
kernel.org :-) This boots from sdcard.

Next step: I want to boot the target system via PXE/bootp
(the booting part does work) and the downloaded root file system
should run in RAM (no sdcard involved any more)

I consulted google but I don't have a clear picture
of how to proceed.

- I need to clean the image further to make it smaller, ok.
The documentation and the examples have hints about that.

- I guess, I need to convert the image into some other format.
   Correct? Now:
   mksqashfs?
   or some variant of mkinitrd?
   other?

- I probably need to reconsider the addresses to load kernel
   devicetree and the root fs.

Am I on the correct paht?
Anything else I need to consider?
Pointers would be highly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

Cheers,
Erich
