Hi,
tried to set-up an elbe development system using a docker container,
following these instructions:
https://github.com/Linutronix/elbe/tree/master/dockerfile
So far so good, but trying to create the first initvm, using
this command:
elbe at 28ce7cc1b220:~/elbe$ sudo ./elbe initvm create ./examples/armhf-ti-beaglebone-black.xml
I got the following error:
--- 8< -----------------------------------------------------------
/usr/bin/kvm
kvm: -device virtio-rng-pci: Parameter 'driver' expects device type
------------------------------------------------------------------
kvm failed to start
This is most likely the case, because /dev/kvm is not available.
To use KVM inside a VMWARE or other VM instance,
nested KVM needs to be supported
------------------------------------------------------------------
make: *** [.stamps/stamp-install-initial-image] Error 1
Building the initvm Failed
Giving up
--- 8< -----------------------------------------------------------
Looks like something is wrong with the kvm support.
Any hints would be welcome.
Christian
