[minicoredumper] Error reading from /proc/<pid>/mem

hi
i am trying to use the minicoredumper but am getting errors errno="Operation
not permitted" when trying to pread64 from the /proc/<pid>/mem on an
application that crashed. i tried wrapping the code with ptrace attach and
detach but with no change.
could someone tell me what i am doing wrong
